Parking in surrounding streets is no longer possible
Since the 1st of August 2023, it is no longer possible for visitors to park in the streets surrounding Stadsschouwburg Antwerpen. The city of Antwerp has introduced this measure to reduce parking pressure for local residents. Only residents with a resident parking permit, holders of an EU parking card for people with disabilities, and people using a shared car from a professional provider can still park in this zone. Market on Saturday and Sunday
Are you coming to the Stadsschouwburg during the weekend? Then bear in mind that certain markets take place on the Theaterplein and in the surrounding area.
The Exotic Market takes place on Saturday, from 8 am to 4 pm.
The Bird Market takes place on Sunday, from 8 am to 1 pm.
Low emission zone
The entire Antwerp city center and a part of Linkeroever are low emission zones. This means you are no longer allowed to enter this zone with a polluting car. The Stadsschouwburg lies inside the low emission zone.
Take the precaution of checking in advance whether your vehicle is allowed to enter Antwerp. Or better yet: park your car at a Park & Ride (P+R) and use public transport for the remainder of your journey.
